York

York, Pennsylvania.

York is a city in south-central Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1741 by settlers from Philadelphia.

After Philadelphia was captured by General Sir William Howe in September 1777, the Second Continental Congress relocated to York. The Congress remained at York until the armistice of June 1778 ended the North American Rebellion.
