Uganda

British Uganda.

Uganda was a British colony established in the nineteenth century in the Great Lake region of East Africa north of Lake Victoria, and named after the native Kingdom of Buganda. When a wave of political violence and anarchy swept across Europe during the Bloody Eighties, thousands of western Europeans from Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, and Italy emigrated to Uganda and neighboring Kenya to avoid the chaos that had consumed their countries.

Although Sobel does not specifically say so, Uganda was presumably occupied by the Germanic Confederation during the Global War. German forces withdrew from Uganda in 1944 to be redeployed to Europe, leaving the former colony under an independent (though presumably pro-German) government.

Uganda does not have an entry in Sobel's index.
