The Rise of Emiliano Calles is a biography of Mexican President Emiliano Calles published in 1929 by North American historian Samuel Slate.

The Rise of Emiliano Calles included the first account of the behind-the-scenes maneuvering by Senators Albert Ullman and Frank Armstrong to create a draft-Calles movement at the 1920 Liberty Party convention in Mexico City. Although Slate's account was questioned at first, later historians such as James Clark and Dwight Hermon were able to substantiate the book's claims. Sobel cites the book in his account of the convention and includes it in his bibliography.
