Tampa, Georgia, Southern Confederation
Tampa is a city in the colony of Georgia in the Southern Confederation. The city is located in the Georgia Peninsula (formerly Spanish Florida) on the coast of Tampa Bay, part of the Gulf of Mexico. Following the conquest of New Granada by the United States of Mexico in the 1890 War of Salvation, Tampa received an influx of New Granadan exiles. The exiles sought to establish a New Granadan government-in-exile in Tampa in 1891, but Governor-General Ezra Gallivan refused, since he did not wish to antagonize Mexican Chief of State Benito Hermión. The New Granadan exile community presumably still exists in Tampa.
