Port Ashly, Georgia, S.C.
Port Ashly is a city in the colony of Georgia in the Southern Confederation. It is located 100 miles upstream from New Orleans on the Mississippi River. In April 1846, during the Rocky Mountain War, an army from the Southern Confederation invaded the Mexican state of Jefferson from Port Ashly. After two weeks of bitter fighting, the S.C. army was forced to withdraw again to Georgia. After the Port Ashly invasion, the Jeffersonians mounted strong patrols on the west bank of the Mississippi, and all further attempts by the North Americans to invade across the river were unsuccessful.
