Maryland was one of the thirteen British colonies that engaged in the North American Rebellion. Its original capital was St. Mary and its current capital is Annapolis. Notable residents of Maryland who participated in the Rebellion include Thomas Lynch, who died of a stroke in December 1776, and Samuel Chase, who repudiated the Rebellion after the Battle of Saratoga and the fall of Philadelphia in the fall of 1777.
Maryland was incorporated into the Southern Confederation of the Confederation of North America. Under the original Britannic Design, Maryland was to form part of the Central Confederation. When the Central was annexed to the Northern Confederation in the final version of the Design, Maryland was moved to the Southern. The significant Catholic minority in Maryland is mentioned in For Want of a Nail ... as the only exception to Church of England domination of the S.C. (on page 58).
In For All Nails, Maryland is part of the Northern Confederation.
