John Salazar was the grandfather of Carl Salazar, the President of Kramer Associates from 1949.
John Salazar worked for Monte Benedict's Petroleum of Mexico company as an oilfield foreman. When Petroleum of Mexico merged with Kramer Associates in 1892 John Salazar became an employee of the latter. John Salazar's son Edward Salazar rose considerably higher in the ranks of K.A., becoming a financial vice-president at the company's San Francisco headquarters and a personal friend of K.A. President Diego Cortez y Catalán. Thus, Carl Salazar was a third-generation employee of K.A.
