Jethro Stimson

Jethro Stimson.

Jethro Stimson is a British historian. In his book Jackson and the Pacific Dream, published in London in 1950, Stimson argued that Mexican President Andrew Jackson wished to see the United States of Mexico expand across the Pacific, citing Jackson's address to the California legislature on 24 December 1823 in which he said that California might have "the greatest frontier of all the Mexican states." Stimson may have been seeking historical precedents for President Alvin Silva's attack on Japan and invasion of China in 1942.
