Jefferson University is a major institution of higher learning located in Jefferson City, the capital city of the Mexican state of Jefferson. Its most notable alumnus is Benito Hermión, the son of the late Mexican president Pedro Hermión. Sobel states that during his time at J.U. Hermión "was better known for his escapades than for his scholarly endeavors."
