Horatio Conyers

Horatio Conyers (? - 1816) was a Jeffersonian military leader.

After the state of Jefferson declared war on the Republic of Mexico on 16 May 1816, General Conyers was placed in command of the Jeffersonian army. However, he was killed in battle within a week of crossing the Rio Grande, and command of the Jeffersonian army passed to Colonel Andrew Jackson.

Following the establishment of the United States of Mexico in 1821, the name of the capital of Mexico del Norte was changed from Santa Fé to Conyers in his honor.
