Frank Evans

Frank Evans of the Northern Confederation.

Frank Evans was a member of the Grand Council of the Confederation of North America from the Northern Confederation.

Sobel calls Evans the People's Coalition's most attractive candidate for Governor-General in the 1928 Grand Council elections, but says that he managed to alienate potential supporters by his automatic opposition to every program proposed by incumbent Governor-General Henderson Dewey. During the campaign, Evans appeared inept, which contributed to the Coalition's crushing defeat in 1928, losing thirteen of their sixty-nine Council seats to Dewey's Liberal Party. The Liberals also won five of the six governorships and control of four confederal legislatures.

Evans does not have an entry in Sobel's index.

Sobel's source for Frank Evans' role in the 1928 elections is Franklin Drew's The Guard Is Confirmed: The Elections of 1928 (New York, 1933).
