Carmody2

Fritz Carmody of Mexico del Norte.

Fritz Carmody was a member of the Mexican Senate from Mexico del Norte. A member of the Liberty Party, Carmody acted as chief lieutenant to Senate Minority Leader Thomas Rogers of Arizona. Carmody was arrested by the Constabulary on 16 September 1881 during the "Night of the Caballeros" when Constabulary Commandant Benito Hermión seized control of the Mexican government.

Sobel makes no further mention of Carmody after his arrest. It is possible that Carmody was murdered by the Constabulary after his arrest.

Sobel's source for Fritz Carmody's arrest is Bernard Mix's The Night of the Caballeros: The Hermión Seizure (London, 1964).
