Executive Mansion

The Executive Mansion, Burgoyne.

The Executive Mansion, also known as the Executive Palace, is the official residence and workplace of the Governor-General of the Confederation of North America. It is located in the North American capital city of Burgoyne in western Pennsylvania. Sobel does not say when the Executive Mansion was first built, or whether it has been remodeled or replaced over time.

Sobel notes that at the height of the Starkist Terror in July 1899, Governor-General Ezra Gallivan was obliged to remain sequestered in the Executive Mansion, surrounded by capital guards, and that not even the Burgoyne regiments of the North American Army were permitted near him for fear of assassination.

After Governor-General Bruce Hogg suffered a severe stroke on 16 September 1950 that paralyzed the left side of his body and his vocal cords, his wife notified the Executive Mansion's doctors. When Hogg's Cabinet met in the Square Room, the doctors informed them that the governor-general hadn't long to live.
