4. Kingston is on the site IOW of Digby, Nova Scotia. It was founded in 1781 as a planned capital to encourage development around the Bay of Fundy.
(For Want of a Nail ..., page 43, names Kingston as the site of Nova Scotia's Assembly at the adoption of the Britannic Design in 1782, but there was then no IOW town of that name. However, IOW Digby was founded by United Empire Loyalists in 1783, so the place was clearly viewed as a promising site for a city. (DAMB))
