Jeremy and his less observant sidekick Dr. Bruce were created by the Edinburgh surgeon Joseph Bell in a series of novels and short stories in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They remain among the FANTL's most famous literary characters, even more beloved by true devotees of 19th-century literature such as Felipe.
